Santa parade

I am very pleased we went to the local Santa parade. There was a big one in the city center on the previous weekend but we decided it would be too crowded and not really entertaining for our kids. Merryn found out there was a small local one just down the road from the house on the weekend. It was quite cold when we got there but by the time it started we almost needed a sun hat!

We positioned ourselves at the best spot to watch the parade:

The whole parade took about an hour. It was very low key but we enjoyed it very much.
It was led by a police car which Oliver thought was the best part of the parade.



The boy with a tongue:

All of them were local businesses, early child care centre, college, primary school, real estate agents, belly dancing club, RSPCA and Scotish bagpipe groups.

   



Luca was so happy there were kids coming around giving out some Christmas treats. His pockets were getting full! 

And finally Santa arrived! Luca couldn't stop waving to him.



Oliver was worried he couldn't tell him what he wants for Christmas...



It was such a pleasure to see local people get together and all the kids smiling and enjoying being part of the community event. I wish we have something like this in Japan or Singapore for our kids to take part in.

The boys enjoyed their special Christmas candies once we got home. Ho Ho Ho!
