Luca in action

One of the Dragon's mummies always make sure she brings her big camera and takes photos of each player in the U6s. Out of the hundreds of photos she has taken over the TRC tournament weekend I have picked some to share with you. Such amazing photos!! Luca you rock!!

TRC Junior CUP 2017 - Day 2

Day 2 of the TRC Junior Cup stated off with torrential rain. Lucky Merryn and Dennis stayed behind at Bayshore Park to look after Ashley for us. An amazing amount of rain in such a short time!!

Of course the other Dragon's mummies came and told me that "I think Luca is over there sliding into a huge puddle." I don't normally care but since there were some cases of worm parasites I had to bring him back into the tent. Look at Luca - very proud of his mischief.     

Once the rain stopped the little Dragons got into the warm up. They were determined to win all the games once again!!

And guess what? U6 did won all the games and won the Tournament Cup!!! 

I didn't know each player gets a big trophy to take home. So Luca got his own, he was extra excited!! He is getting more and more into rugby and understanding what he needs to do to be a better player. Thanks to the great coaches and team mates he has improved SO MUCH in these last 6 months. Well done Luca!

U8 started their day in 5th position. They played like superstars thoughout the day and won the Bowl. Well done boys!

However, Oliver is always emotional and when he found out Luca won the Cup and got given a big trophy to take home he started to melt down (I know it was partly from running around all morning but... really, time to grow up Oliver please). Since Oliver had to go straight from rugby to dodgeball practice I treated him with a lunch date. I managed to get his smile back once the food arrived :)

An amazing rugby weekend for both of our boys. We are very proud of both boys and we are also so pleased that they love playing sports and being part of a team. Well done Oliver & Luca xxx

TRC Junior Cup 2017 Day 1

What great weather we had for our 2 very excited Dragons and a rabbit (?) We were up early and headed out to the other side of Singapore - Tanglin Rugby Club at Turf City for the 2 day TRC Junior Cup.

Unfortunately the games for the boys had almost identical timing. So we ended up separating into two. I followed Luca with Ashley with Dragons U6s and Matthew helped coach Oliver's team Dragons U8. It was very excited for the boys to have their grandparents coming to watch them play. It was hard for M&D though. They had to move around to watch both boys in the insane heat!

Dragons U8 (now playing contact) played 3 games against TRC Spartans, SCC Tigers and Centaurs Samurais. I thought they might play slightly better to be honest but they won 1 game and lost 2. I only managed to watch a part of Oliver's games :(

Dragons U6 were on fire!! They played 3 games against Tanglin Vikings, SCC Lions and the Centaurs. The team is shaping up very well and all the players showed off their great skills. They won all the games on this day!!!

In between games they also played tug of war. Can you spot Luca? Yep he is the only one trying to push instead of pull on the very right hand corner... It is so Luca...

M&D are in Singapore!

Merryn and Dennis arrived from NZ two nights ago. Today they offered to collect Luca and Ashley from kindy. I watched them coming home from our balcony. If you zoom in you can see them :)

Little Crusaders

The time is ticking away for the Williams who are sadly leaving Singapore in early June. Oliver and TJ have watched so many Crusaders games together. I will so miss watching them getting excited in front of the TV...

Rugby photo wall in progress

I have been wanting to do this for a long long time. Finally I chose some photos and got them printed. We have so many great memories around RUGBY in the Rose family. I wanted to put it together and place it in the hallway. I placed them in a random order and put them on with special thin blue tacks. Unfortunately with the heat it didn't stick on too long. I now have to redo some of them as they moved and got stuck on top of each other :(

I still have photos from the last 6 months undeveloped so I guess I will complete the project when I get them sorted. I must hurry up. The All Blacks season will begin soon!

Luca the builder

Luca's kids dining chair broke the other day. I inherited it from my sister and it was very well used by both my nephew and Oliver before Luca got it (I think well over 10 years!!!).

So off we went to my favourite furniture shop IKEA and got a new one for him. Of course he wanted to put it together by himself.

Matthew had to supervise and tighten the screws in the end but he did a pretty good job. Luca tells us he wants to drive airplanes when he is bigger but we are really thing he will be more of an engineer type. What do you think?!

So proud of herself

She is loving her ballet lessons. Now they are working on a movie Frozen dance project which I can sneakily watch though the window (Ashley is too good and always spots me though!).
She has a full on smile on her face and is putting everything into it. She is very proud of what she is achieving!!

Extra training for TRC Junior Cup

Luca's team had an extra training focusing on games skills this evening. I do love watching them play rugby on real grass. They can run and tumble down whichever way they want. Unfortunately where the boys usually practice has only artificial turf. It was a great practice session. I know there is definitely at least one very keen boy - LUCA!

Birthday rush - May

There are many birthday celebrations happening in Bayshore Park in May, including Ashley and Oliver. This year's trend among Japanese friends was instead of having a whole big cake the parents prepare individual pieces for easy sharing.

Then today we got together again to celebrate Mei's birthday!

It is so lovely to have such a great community here. Still two more birthdays left. Oliver's and Aisla's on the very same day!! Bring it on!!

Might have over done it

I normally order things online before Matthew does his Osaka flights. Sometimes I click on too many items... This is the entrance way at our Japanese house. Mum and Dad are currently living there and truly wondering what on earth I am purchasing!

Mother's Day 2017

To celebrate Mother's Day we went out for a big Japanese sushi lunch. We kind of went overboard! But to our surprise the kids ate most of it! Hungry Japanese kids!!!

I was given very cute crafty gifts :)

Matthew cooked us some delicious BBQ dinner to finish up the special day. 

The NZ wine we had wasn't MAMA but close enough. I am so blessed to be the mother of such amazing kids. And guess what!? My role will continue for a long long time yet!

Right in time for Mothers Day

I get a buzz each time this plant flowers. The plant itself looks quite dead with only a few leaves on it but when the flowers come out - so nice! Great timing for Mothers Day :) Made me smile.

Breakfast with Rach and Peter

We even got to catch up with Rachael's brother David and her partner Peter at the ECP for some breakfast. Unfortunately Luca's art and drama class had the end of term performance at the same time so I only got to see them for a very short time. Sill it was very nice for Matthew to finally catch up with Dave and Peter.

More drinks with Rach @ MBS

I make sure I see Rach as much as I can when she is in Singapore. Matthew was home to look after the kids (yeah!). Actually, this happens quite often, I am very lucky! Thank you darling xxx.

We met up at a cafe near our condo first for some lunch and coffee then later we went out to the Sky Bar CE LA VI at MBS. It is on a different side of the hotel (I was on top of Tower 1 yesterday and today we were at Tower 3). I havn't been here for a long time and didn't know they have renovated the whole area.

I was very impressed with the renovation. The bar area is much more open and spacious:

They have built a new observation deck on the lower level:

You get to be seated right on the edge to enjoy the view:

My mojito went down pretty quickly!

Jennifer, Rachael's sister-in-law was there too. The three of us together with cocktails and opening wine bottles - always a sign of trouble!
