CNY soccer match

The Japanese daddies organised a CNY soccer match at Bayshore Park. The kids were very excited especially Oliver. He just loves playing ball sports at the moment. Luca not so much but he wanted to make sure he was in the right uniform and had a number on his back... He made number 1 out of a piece of paper - bless him.

Both the kids and the adults had so much fun running around for 2 hours. Needless to say the dinner party by the pool afterwards was so much fun as usual :)

Kei's birthday BBQ

On the weekend we were invited to Kei's birthday BBQ. Unfortunately it rained all afternoon so the party had to be delayed slightly. But it brought the temperature right down which was quite nice.

I made prawn and vegetable ajillo again - which was a hit. And something new I wanted to try - a BBQ pineapple with Maple syrup. It didn't turn out how I wanted. I think next time I need to cut it into slices then cook.

The main dish for the BBQ was these amazing wagyu beef steaks. They were so tender and juicy - I hadn't eaten that much meat at once in a long time. They had so much of it, it kept coming out to the table!!

The kids enjoyed yummy wagyu beef burgers and of course marshmellows on a stick. 

Time for a birthday cake, the fireworks were a great idea :)

Super happy Kei - Happy Birthday!!!

Well the fun time continued till all the lights went out in the BBQ pit. Lots of laughs and our usual entertainment - karaoke with Youtube!

The party moved to Kei's place. Most of the guests stayed on and I think the last ones (including me) left around 3 am!! I am so glad we could be part of your special celebration again this year :)

Sushi dinner with the Frenchies

We have a lovely Danish & French family here in Bayshore Park. We have been trying to find a date for a dinner night but Christina, the mum, has been so busy traveling for work and we have not had a dinner night with her in the longest time. We had to go ahead with the rest of the family. We made sushi and had a fun night.

The girls arrived early to help me make sushi. Marie, their oldest daughter is not so keen on sushi like the other sisters. It was my mission to get her hooked onto Japanese cuisine!

I was so surprised to see how the youngest Emily did the rolling. She chose to put quite a lot of things inside which makes it tricky to roll but she did it perfectly!

All ready!! Well done girls :)

I also made some inari pockets (rice put in cooked tofu skin) and some tempura. I think Marie did enjoy the meal :) 

Here is Fabrice getting his 3rd plate?? I love cooking for people who are passionate about eating. When all the food is gone, I feel so good! 

Gong Xi Fa Chai 2017

It's the exciting time of the year here in Singapore. Wherever you go you hear the "Gong Xi" songs and your kids drive you nuts singing the chicken song? for the entire afternoon...

Luca and Ashley had a Chinese New Year celebration party at their kindy today. Oliver had his one the other day but he took the outfit to wear only at school - so no photos of him this year (I still should have taken pictures with all three of them...).

Meeting baby Sawa

One of the mummies from Oliver's class had a baby girl during the Christmas holiday. We were itching to visit and meet her. Finally 5 of us made it to Ayako's place to meet baby Sawa.

You forget how small newborn babies are. She is tiny!
Ayako is in the middle of the photo behind me. She didn't look she had a baby just a month ago.

Ayako had the dining table beautifully set for us. We had lunch together and had such a great time catching up. I haven't laughed so much in a while. Ayako had so many funny stories.

Kids dinner night

Oliver had his best friend from school Yuto for another sleepover this weekend.

Well you know me, I love entertaining the kids so I invited all the others to join the dinner. It was such a beautiful evening (finally!) so they all ate on the balcony. I just cannot wait for this windy rainy season to finish. Can you guess what Luca is dressed up as? 

There are lot more girls in our condo so it was nice to have an extra boy staying with us!

After the dinner some were playing in the bedroom, some watched a LEGO movie. As you guessed while the kids were entertaining themselves us mummies had fun Friday night drinks again :) What a life we have here in Singapore!

At the first practice of the year

Oliver's rugby team has been practicing contact for a while. At the very first practice of the year, Oliver got tackled pretty badly by one of the biggest boys in the team. Be strong my little man!

Yep it's BBQ time again!

It has been a while since we had a BBQ with the Bayshore Crew. As usual it was such a fun night. So much delicious meat and lovely salad to go with. And of course drinking in the fresh air made the wine taste even better!

The kids had fun running around and playing together till late :)

I tried something new to contribute to the BBQ dish. I cooked this gambas al ajillo. 

Very easy to make, I cooked some broccoli, tomatoes, mushrooms and prawns in some chilli olive oil. Reheated on the BBQ with baguette - super tasty!

Last day of yoga with Veronica

So sad I won't be able to exercise in this fab setting. Fresh air, looking up to the blue sky and the trees.

I asked Kei to come along again. She was so funny. At the very beginning of the lesson we were relaxing and preparing our body for the next one hour. She fell asleep! Just like that!

The class was a lot harder today as Veronica wanted to try a little more high level stuff with us. 

Look at me! I didn't think I could do it but I did!!!!

Thank you Veronica for the last two months - for getting me back into exercising and pushing me further each time.
