Legoland - Part2

This is the front of the hotel. I took this photo when the coach drove there in the morning to drop some hotel guests off first. Luca was very panicky because he thought the bus was leaving Legoland already!

He was shouting at the bus driver "excuse me bus driver!! I need to go to Legoland!!" 

Oliver and a ginormous Lego knight:

My impression for the hotel was "roomy" the lobby, the corridor, lift area etc was very big.  

I loved this wall art. The Lego guy on the bike was moving - from left to right of the reception (see even the reception area is huge!). With a wall full of lego figures!

 Plenty room for the kids to run around and play:

They even have a rooftop swimming pool:

This is inside the elevator, each one is done with different theme with some disco music! How cool!

They were staying on the Pirate theme floor. There are also Adventure theme and Kingdom theme too. You can check it out in detail here.

 The room was divided into two parts, the kids room with a bunk bed and their own TV.  

 And the adult bed. 

 

Isabel told me that when they arrived the kids were given some clue to find some treasure in the room which was very well done and the kids got some Lego!

After having a good tour of the hotel we sat down in the cafe area in the restaurant. There were play stations set up just outside the restaurant so we left the bigger kids there to play and got some drinks and had more chit chat.

We had our return coach booked at 18:30 so couldn't have dinner with them unfortunately... But we had such a great day together. Oliver was pretty upset we didn't go to the Water park :( I guess we need to do another trip over to JB. I like not doing everything with one visit and leaving some for the next time so works well with me. Maybe we could try the hotel too!?

Legoland with the Ferans - Part1

We had to make sure we were back from Japan  for this exciting day. Legoland trip to JB Malaysia!
The theme park itself was already exciting for the boys but we were there to meet the Ferans from Brunei to spend the day together! They were in the middle of their Malaysian holiday so drove down from KL to meet us. We took a coach like we did last year from the Singapore Flyer, with no hassle we got to JB. I think we should have taken one or two earlier coach though, as we got stuck in the immigration queue for a little bit.  

But much easier than organising a rental car etc.

We wondered into the Lego City world to start with to find our friends. The boys were so cute talking to the big size Lego people!

I was surprised to see almost no queue for any rides. The last time we were here we had to wait quite a long time. They sort of started the rides for us... no need to fight for colours, you can pick whichever you like. Guess which boy I am flying this plane with!?

 By the time we did two rides on the Lego planes we found them!

We didn't waste our time, we got into the rides straight away! 

Unfortunately Luca was too short for lots of the rides. He was quite upset as he wanted to do everything Oliver and Oscar was doing. Poor little guy...

Having another family was just great. The kids have different group dynamics and behave much better and especially for Matthew and I we get to go on the rides with friends. If we were there just ourselves we could have only done the little kiddie rides.

Last time the boys were way too small to explore the Kingdom part so we didn't come this far at all. It was very cool! The bigger kids enjoyed some dragon rides which were super fun (there are two different ones to try).

Once again Luca was too small so he was very upset and talked to this little mouse the entire time we were waiting.

We moved onto the Miniland where our boys enjoyed looking at the miniature world so much.
Singapore:

 Had to be done, their birth county - Brunei!

The last time we visited Oliver was too small to go on most of the rides but this time we managed to do a lot more. Even there wasn't queue for most of the rides we ended up not having enough time to cover some of the park. We were planning to spend the late afternoon in their newly opened Legoland Water Park  but the weather turned against us (when there is lightning or even a warning they stop all the slides etc in the pool) so we couldn't enter.

We charged ourselves with some cool treats and carried on with the rides a bit more. 

Then the weather really turned bad and wild on us, it started to bucket down - what do you do when the rain is so heavy you cannot even walk? Yes, you run into a big Lego shop!

I didn't buy a lot there. Somehow Lego is much cheaper in Japan on Amazon etc so I only got things that were cheap and unique there. There were a few good small packets of Lego for $3, I bought some Christmas ones, Chima ones and Space ones. I also got some water bottles for the boys and got myself this cute looking keyring :)

We knew from the last experience after a big storm that lots of the rides had to be closed until all the water was mopped away etc. So we decided to spend the rest of the afternoon in the Legoland Hotel where the Ferans were staying.

Blogger trouble

It sounds very odd but my Macbook decided to choose which pages to load and somehow it decided Blogger is not a good one and wouldn't load for a long long time. Hence I haven't been able to blog. I could use the ipad or iphone blogger app but the photo quality from those devices are not as good and I cannot edit it freely so I waited. So I have a whole month of happenings to blog about, bear with me, I will catch up slowly...

Thanks to the photos I can always remember what we have done!

Ready to take off

Oliver spent an afternoon building this cool looking airplane. He was so proud but was devastated when he found out he had to leave it behind when he goes on the plane back to Singapore.

After lots of tears we decided it will stay in his Japanese bedroom until he returns next time.

Girly catch up

It is truly nice to have lifetime friends. Yukari came to visit us during our stay in Japan. The last time she saw Ashley was when she was only 2 months old with her spiky hair. We chatted and chatted until it was time for her to go home. She now lives about 1 hour drive away from our place but she always makes an effort to come and see us.
