TRC Junior CUP 2017 - Day 2

Day 2 of the TRC Junior Cup stated off with torrential rain. Lucky Merryn and Dennis stayed behind at Bayshore Park to look after Ashley for us. An amazing amount of rain in such a short time!!

Of course the other Dragon's mummies came and told me that "I think Luca is over there sliding into a huge puddle." I don't normally care but since there were some cases of worm parasites I had to bring him back into the tent. Look at Luca - very proud of his mischief.     

Once the rain stopped the little Dragons got into the warm up. They were determined to win all the games once again!!

And guess what? U6 did won all the games and won the Tournament Cup!!! 

I didn't know each player gets a big trophy to take home. So Luca got his own, he was extra excited!! He is getting more and more into rugby and understanding what he needs to do to be a better player. Thanks to the great coaches and team mates he has improved SO MUCH in these last 6 months. Well done Luca!

U8 started their day in 5th position. They played like superstars thoughout the day and won the Bowl. Well done boys!

However, Oliver is always emotional and when he found out Luca won the Cup and got given a big trophy to take home he started to melt down (I know it was partly from running around all morning but... really, time to grow up Oliver please). Since Oliver had to go straight from rugby to dodgeball practice I treated him with a lunch date. I managed to get his smile back once the food arrived :)

An amazing rugby weekend for both of our boys. We are very proud of both boys and we are also so pleased that they love playing sports and being part of a team. Well done Oliver & Luca xxx

TRC Junior Cup 2017 Day 1

What great weather we had for our 2 very excited Dragons and a rabbit (?) We were up early and headed out to the other side of Singapore - Tanglin Rugby Club at Turf City for the 2 day TRC Junior Cup.

Unfortunately the games for the boys had almost identical timing. So we ended up separating into two. I followed Luca with Ashley with Dragons U6s and Matthew helped coach Oliver's team Dragons U8. It was very excited for the boys to have their grandparents coming to watch them play. It was hard for M&D though. They had to move around to watch both boys in the insane heat!

Dragons U8 (now playing contact) played 3 games against TRC Spartans, SCC Tigers and Centaurs Samurais. I thought they might play slightly better to be honest but they won 1 game and lost 2. I only managed to watch a part of Oliver's games :(

Dragons U6 were on fire!! They played 3 games against Tanglin Vikings, SCC Lions and the Centaurs. The team is shaping up very well and all the players showed off their great skills. They won all the games on this day!!!

In between games they also played tug of war. Can you spot Luca? Yep he is the only one trying to push instead of pull on the very right hand corner... It is so Luca...

Little Crusaders

The time is ticking away for the Williams who are sadly leaving Singapore in early June. Oliver and TJ have watched so many Crusaders games together. I will so miss watching them getting excited in front of the TV...

Selfy - Take 1

Oliver is allowed to play with my old phone to play pokemon games sometimes. The photo albums on this phone are connected to my computer through iCloud. Hence I get random photos poping up on my photo album.

KL Tigers Rugby weekend away

Here we were at the airport nice and early to catch a Jetstar flight to KL. The flight was very full and there were so many staff waiting - we were very lucky to get on! After a little bit of stress at the counter the kids and I finally smiled and had time to take a "ready for a great weekend" photo!

Since Matthew had to work on Friday I was solo with the kids leaving Singapore. 

All the Dragons Rugby Club kids were staying at the very nice hotel at the airport which was perfect for me. We arrived way too early for check in so quickly dropped the bags at the hotel and took a free shuttle to the Mitsui outlet mall. Yes I have done this before! I knew exactly where I was heading to!

I got super bargains at the CONVERSE outlet last time so we went back there to get some new pairs for the boys and a pair for me! We also checked out the POLO outlet where I managed to get more clothes for Oliver's school. By lunch time the kids had had enough though. We had some Japanese noodles for lunch and these three little monkeys had fun in the play area.

Later that day we met up with the other boys from the club and they all enjoyed a little swim while Charne and I had a couple of drinks by the pool. Unfortunately the weather turned against us and we had to pack away :(

Matthew arrived while we were having dinner then helped me prepare the kids for bed. Lucky me!

They had a very early morning leaving Singapore so no trouble falling asleep!

We were up early at 5:30 to have breakfast and be ready for the big day. 

It was a beautiful morning but it soon got really really hot!!!

Luca's team had results up on FB. They played 5 games, 1 win, 3 loss and 1 draw. Luca even scored a super TRY on the second game!!  

Of course our little rugby princess was there to support her big brothers :)

Both boys had a fantastic day of rugby. I love KL tournaments. We get up very early but the games are all done by early afternoon so that the boys have loads of fun in the swimming pool with their teammates and us mummies get to relax over nice cocktails. Of course daddies get together to have beer too!

Oliver had fun even during dinnertime!!

Matthew tried everything he could to swap his flight on the following day but no luck and he had to return to Singapore. So my mission was trying to be there for as much as I could for each of the games without losing Ashley on the field. I had to make sure she had a little bit of fun too...

I left photo taking tasks to mummies with good cameras and just watched the games. Hence I don't have many photos to share sorry. 

Oliver is just enjoying rugby so much at the moment. He was playing brilliantly in all the games! 

His team played 9 games over the 2 days. They won 7 and got to the plate final. 

The boys have grown so much over the last 6 months. They play as a team so well now. 

Another tournament done but we will still have a busy rugby season until the summer holiday. Bring it on - Go Dragons!!!

Oliver had a super fun evening running in the rain and playing his favourite sport - Rugby!
His team decided to have an extra training session every Tuesday evening.
The more the rugby the merrier in the Rose residence!

Not so impressed

It might be hard to see in this photo but these are the Chinese characters Oliver needs to learn in Primary 2. 160 of them. He mastered 80 in Primary 1 - so double the amount this coming year.
I know you can do it Oliver!

Oliver - The last day of Primary 1

This is Oliver very happy to leave home for the last day of Primary 1 at the Japanese School. He has grown a lot this year and his Japanese language has improved tremendously. He made so many new friends and enjoyed all the activities he did at school. You can see Oliver on his first day here.

Since I was on bus duty this week, I went downstairs see the kids off. They were all very excited!

They came home before lunch time with their school reports. Oliver was very happy with his grades and so were we. I invited all the kids and the mummies for BBQ lunch on the balcony. Matthew was still home before his flights so he cooked the BBQ and I baked some fresh bread rolls :)
