The boys in the water
The boys have been super good in the water recently. They are enjoying floating, swimming, jumping in the water etc. We are down at the pool pretty much every day.
Most of all they play very nicely together - makes me smile a lot :)

Singapore Formula 1
Last weekend was full of fun for the big boys. It was time for Dennis to redeem his Christmas and birthday presents from last year - spending 3 days at the Singapore Formula 1 with Matthew.
We bought 3 three day tickets between the 4 of us. Of course Matthew and Dennis were there for the three days and Merryn and I shared the other ticket. Merryn went to the Friday practice and Saturday qualifying. I had a bad eye infection so almost missed out but managed to get there on Sunday night (thank you so much Merryn for looking after all of our three children!).
We were pretty happy with our seats, quite close to the race course plus right in front of the screen so that we can see what's going on and could hear the commentating occasionally.
It is such an amazing venue. From the grandstand we were at you could see the stunning view of the skyline and Marina Bay Sands.
I think this was the first night I went out with Matthew after having Ashley.
It was such a pleasant evening:
I was busy worrying about settling Ashley and dealing with my sore eye so I completely forgot to take my big camera. So I only had my iphone to take photos :( hence didn't take many. But you can still get the feeling of what we enjoyed through some of the photos below.
The hotel was dressed in F1 for the weekend:

This is the best I could do to catch the super fast moving car! Can you see it?
I am not at all into F1 but it was fantastic to be at a live sport venue. The last few laps were great especially as we could see some action right in front of us! There was a little crash near our stand so they put out the SC (safety car) during which time the cars needed to follow it. Apparently they need to keep their tires warm so were driving in zig-zags at lower speed.
You can see them going past on this video.
As you may know the winner Sebastian Vettel was too good to be beaten and finished way ahead of the rest of the cars.
We also enjoyed beautiful fireworks at the end of the race:
There were so many people using the same gates to get out but it was very well managed . They opened up the race course for people to walk too, which was rather cool.

Our friends carried on partying at the concerts after the F1, The Killers and Rihanna. Matthew managed to go on Saturday and had fun but couldn't go on Sunday because of an early start on Monday am. I think next year will be good for me to go out and party :)

Oliver and Luca
It is very interesting to see our boys so different one day and so alike on other days. As babies they looked totally different, Oliver looking more Kiwi and Luca looking more Japanese. Their head shapes are different which often make them look so different. But I think they are looking more and more alike recently. What do you think?

Happy Birthday Annabel and Nicola!
I have a friend in Brunei who shares her birthday with her son, Nicola also shares her birthday with her daughter Annabel. I think it's rather cool.
They had a family afternoon out at the ECP doing some wakeboarding. We were invited to come along to watch them but we couldn't make it as I had a bad eye infection :( That would have been interesting.
They came home slightly late and Ashley and Luca were both asleep. So I only took Oliver to their place for some pizza, wine and double birthday celebrations (Matthew was in Osaka so missed another chance to share drinks with the boys... sorry honey!).
We didn't stay long but I enjoyed a nice glass of rosé and yummy pizza :)
Nicola baked a pink cake for Annabel:

Swim with Merryn
Ashely had her second swim (you can see her first swim here) with Merryn. It was a lovely evening - we had to jump in!
Quick visit to Chinatown
I suddenly felt like having Yum Cha for lunch today. Maybe because the Mid-Autumn Festival is around the corner. Merryn and Dennis were out but we met up just in time for a delicious meal.
As we drove into Chinatown we saw lots of lanterns hanging over the streets. Our clever Oliver said "Wow this looks like China!"
There are several Yum Cha places in Chinatown of course but we like this place we were introduced to by our friends. We often have trouble communicating with the restaurant staff but I love the food they serve so we keep going back to this particular restaurant.
It was past lunch rush hour so it wasn't too crowded. We often order everything at once but today we took a different approach and ordered as we ate.
Somehow we ended up ordering way more than we needed but the dumplings were too good to be left on the plates.
After lunch we headed out to the MRT station and we saw some more of these pretty lanterns.
Oliver is asking if we can make some lanterns. I guess it will be our weekend project :)

Meanwhile in Singapore
The boys had a blast! They were very spoiled by their daddy and grandparents.
On Friday they went to the zoo.
The highlight of the visit was the new Polar bear exhibit:
And on Sunday the boys enjoyed the walk and bike ride to the ECP. Of course the special breakfast too!

This is why I didn't have any hesitation at all for leaving my three boys behind. Thank you Merryn and Dennis for looking after them so well!
