Spain 2017 Summer - Apartment with a primo view

After long long flights and waiting time in the airport we finally got to our first accommodation in Barcelona. I was so excited about this apartment. As we started to look for places quite late, most of them were booked out. Somehow I came across this apartment with more than 200 reviews all giving 5 stars!!! It must be good right? But it was fully booked out until November except for the two days we actually wanted!! It must be a sign!! It was slightly pricier than what we were looking at but we were so super happy that we got something special with which to start our holiday :)

We were very impressed from the beginning with the old style lift. We had too many suitcases that took all the room in the lift so the kids and I had to walk up and missed the first ride. They got to help open and close the lift door tho!

Kitchen / dinning: 

The kids room. Having a bedroom with 3 beds is always a bonus for us!!

Master bedroom. Very simple but nice with a king bed. 

And again from the little balcony in the master bedroom we could see Sagrada Familia, designed by Antonio Gaudi - just like this! How cool is this!! 

The apartment was big compared to most units in Barcelona. We were very comfortable with the space and cleanliness.

After unpacking Oliver came to our room and started to sketch some pictures. I was pretty impressed he wanted to draw the world famous building - well... very quickly he thought it was too hard so he drew a picture of a tree instead and added his own bird on it.

Another feature of the apartment we enjoyed was this huge bath. The kids had a great time and even I got relax in it twice!!

We were right above a nice bakery (proper coffee in the morning is a MUST for Matthew) and lots of restaurants and tapas bars were in the area. On the first two days we didn't have much planned. Just wanted to explore the area and catch up with some friends - so it was perfect for us!  

Spain 2017 Summer - here we come!!

We were all so excited to be at the airport for a long awaited family holiday. We do have holidays quite often but we usually go back to Japan or New Zealand. So this Spain holiday (visiting somewhere different) was such a big deal for all of us!!

Well we thought we were leaving... Unfortunately the first flight we wanted to get on which was Singapore - Hong Kong got full at the very last minute. A difficult part of staff travel but our kids are used to spending time at the airport. Even though we had 6 hours before checking into the other flight we decided to have an early dinner and chill out in the restaurant. 

Luckily a Super Rugby game was on so we watched the whole game in a Japanese restaurant. 

Somehow the time went by quickly and it was time to check in. We had seats together and the kids got into their pajamas. Straight away they all went to sleep :) Time for Matthew and I to have some drinks and movies!

It was a long long day for us but at least we managed to leave Singapore on the day we planned to leave!
