Airplane school

Matthew was back for work for three days. It was Showa Day / a public holiday here in Japan so the kids were off school - perfect timing to have him back!

Since their school was off Oliver insisted he goes to airplane school instead. He needed to practice "take off" (actually the simulator allows him to land into KIX...) So we took the boys to the Sky View at KIX again.

When we got off the shuttle bus from the terminal the Jetstar plane which Matthew flew in a couple of hours before was just about to take off. So we went up to the viewing deck to watch it (we found out later it was our friend from Singapore who was flying the plane).

Unlike the other day people were everywhere!!

The boys had a great time running around in the little play area:









And the main event - Flight simulator!









This time they tried working in the control tower too. Oliver thought flying was much more fun :)

By the time we got home all three of my boys were exhausted and had a good nap. Zzzz..... So exciting to have daddy back here!

Japan

When we went for a walk, Oliver found "Japan".
I didn't get it at first but look at this!

Evening walk/bike ride

I haven't been to the new housing development area just behind our house since we got back. So I took the kids for an evening walk/bike ride. To my surprise there were more houses in progress and most of the main work was already done.



It is a great spot for the boys to wander around as on the weekend they don't really do big work - so no trucks and cars. The roads are brand new so nice and smooth for Oliver's scooter!

Luca was keen on picking up big stones - He made me laugh so much he was picking up more than he can carry and couldn't even walk properly but was trying so hard.

During the week the boys are fully entertained and exhausted visiting parks etc from the kindy but I needed somewhere close and safe for them for the weekend.

I think I found one!

Cool dudes

The boys finally got their long wanted sunnies each. It was such a sunny day here in Osaka. They were very happy their eyes were protected by their new fashion items!







In the afternoon we visited Mako's place for lunch and some play. Luca found Yuzuki's pink glasses - and straight away he put them on and didn't want to take them off until we had to go!

Why you are not growing?

When I put Oliver to bed this evening we had this cute conversation.

Oliver: Mummy why you eat dinner but not growing?

Me: I thought I was growing, you don't think so?

Oliver: Maybe you need to ask the baby to come out so that he (he calls both sex "he") won't eat all your dinner and you can grow.

So cute thinking of me... I love you my son :)

Gulfstream G550

Matthew had an awesome trip up to KL on this G550 this afternoon. It was a shame me and the boys were in Japan, otherwise all of us could have had a special ride...

No more tears

Luca has been crying when the yellow bus arrives at our front door... :(

But this morning he came out of his little shell and didn't cry at all!! - Instead with a big smile he went into his sensei's arms :) and waved goodbye to me.

He seems to be enjoying everything at the kindy, singing, dancing, gymnastics, visiting parks etc and eating all his lunch and having second servings of rice, having 2 hour nap and toilet training and more! I am so glad he has settled so well.

And guess what was the first new Japanese word he picked up there? - "Dame!!!!"="Noooooo!!!" Made me laugh.

After school snack

The boys have lunch around 11:30 everyday at the kindy so by the time they get home they are starving again...

This morning Oliver asked me if we can go back to Singapore so that we can make some pancakes.
I haven't done any cooking with the boys since we got here so he thinks cooking is only available in Singapore!?

So this afternoon we made some pancakes together! Big big smiles on their faces!!

Of course you need "Hello Kitty" aprons in Japan:

9 years ago today

We were in a boutique hotel in Barbados in the Caribbean, waiting for the ceremony to start. We didn't have any of our family members with us - so just the two of us.

We ended up waiting for a whole day as the sun in Barbados is too strong and we were recommended an afternoon/evening wedding. I think it was one of the longest waits in my life!



After 9 years from this day, we have two beautiful boys and one we are soon to meet. And I am with my best friend/dearest husband Matthew...

We cannot spend this special day together this year, but we will have many more years to spend together.

Walking the dogs

Oliver and Luca wanted to take their dogs for a walk.

I don't think their dogs get any exercise but the good thing is we don't have to pick up their poo!

Answer - they are made of used train tickets! How cool!!

Sky View

The boys got a great surprise when daddy arrived at their kindy to pick them up early this afternoon. Matthew is flying back to Singapore tomorrow so we thought we would treat them with a family outing.

We thought about taking the boys into town to visit the zoo and sakura festival but in the end we found information about this place at the airport that we have never been to. Easy access and not too long an afternoon sounded perfect for a pregnant mummy!

With an extra 100yen we get to go on the special train to the airport (only two stops - about 10min ride).







From the terminal we took a free shuttle to "Sky View" which is an aviation theme park and it was all free of charge!

There was a pokemon painted plane model which our boys were quite keen on - I know they fly these ones during school holidays.



First we took the boys out to see some planes landing and taking off. It was a bit windy but we went out with perfect timing!

Then we headed to the boarding gate - aviation museum:



This area had lots for the boys, they had some interactive simulator machines, big display of how the airport has been built (KIX is an airport which is floating on the sea), 1/72th scale model of the terminal and runway and some kids play area etc etc.

The best thing was we were there on a weekday afternoon, there were only a few others there and we didn't have to wait at all.

Oliver was quite good at landing the plane into KIX:

They also had a cabin room, tow truck simulator, control tower and marshaller simulator, pretty cool ha?







Luca wasn't too good at marshalling... the airplane kept turning around :(

We didn't visit other floors as the boys were getting quite tired without their afternoon nap. To finish off our visit they got to play in an indoor playground with daddy!



I am sure all my three boys were pretty happy about their outing :)
