Christina's 40th Birthday Party

I was so glad to be able to go to our Danish friend Christina's 40th birthday party just before we left to Japan. Matthew had to work until 7pm but managed to get there before all the fun started :) We were asked to leave the kids behind so we can enjoy adults only dinner.

I am very happy with our cleaner/babysitter Rowena. She has been helping us for over a year now. Our kids are comfortable with her and she is often available at short notice. Definitely it was a good choice to make the party kids free!

Of course Christina and Fabrice's three daughters were there busy helping from the start to finish. I am so jealous they have three daughters!

The party was kicked off with a Champagne jeroboam.

The main dish for the dinner was delicious fresh French oysters Fabrice got flown in especially for this occasion. All 50 oysters were gone in no time! They were just so yummy!!

And it was time for cakes and presents. Christina's mum was a big surprise present from Fabrice. He managed to get her to Singapore without Christina knowing. Her mum and the girls baked two different kinds of cakes - chocolate, and strawberry mousse. Yum yum yum!

We all chipped in and got combined presents for Christina. She got a bag in another bag and a beautiful vase.

 

After the cakes, more bottles of french wine were opened and everyone got merrier and merrier :) :) We lost track of time, Matthew and I left after 1am! We almost forgot that we had kids at home.
