James's surprise party

Yesterday Nicola organised a surprise party for her husband James. The original plan was that James takes TJ to rugby practice and everyone will be at their house when they got home. But because of the bad haze the practice got cancelled (again!). So we had to adopt plan B - everyone hid in my place (directly under their apartment) then Nicola texted James saying I need help moving something heavy.

It worked perfectly and YES! he was very very surprised!!!

Once the party began we moved up to Nicola and James's place for a BBQ. I think we added extra smoke into the hazy weather... 

As always the meat was cooked perfectly by the boys. 

We were very lucky to have these super fresh oysters air flown from France as a starter too. Great job Fabrice opening 100 oysters! And Christina for smell testing all of them :)

Later in the evening the jamming session began :)

It was a double fun night as there was an important Rugby World Cup game - Samoa vs Japan! James being Samoan, and my kids and myself supporting Japan!

Very serious moment - everyone listening to the Samoan national anthem: 

This little supporter lasted for the whole game. She only had 40min nap during the day and the game finished after 11:00pm! I can see she will be a great party girl already...

Unfortunately Matthew was away in Perth on his 3 day trip but he made sure he wore his Japan top and enjoyed his beer :)

A strange supporter...

By the time Japan's victory was pretty much determined James got changed into his All Black top - very smart move James!

As soon as the game finished I brought the kids down and put them to bed. My Japanese friends were texting during and after the game being so excited about our victory hence another wine was opened and well consumed. We ended up watching the Scotland vs South Africa game till 2:30am! 

It was such a lovely evening. I enjoyed catching up with all my wonderful friends, having delicious food, nice wine, kids played happily with their friends. What else do you need!? (Oh yes! having my husband beside me would be so much better!)
