Super Rugby game @ the National Stadium

Having been to the coaching session in the morning the boys were extra excited to go and watch Sunwolves vs Bulls at the stadium.

All of the Japanese family came along together with the Kobayashi family. Go JAPAN!

Once we got to the stadium we met up with our Kiwi friends, the Williams and the Lows. It is always extra fun to watch the game with a big group of people!  Somehow the people sitting behind us were all supporting Japan too. There was such a great atmosphere! 

Try! for Japan!!!

It was a very close game. Lots of actions. However, once again Sunwolves missed their first victory... Final score 27-30. 

Even though they didn't win we had some access to the players this time after the game. Last time we were there the security for the stadium was very strict and not many of us could get close to the players. The boys managed to get lots of autographs and selfies! Yeah!

Matthew was most excited to get a selfie with Mark Hammett, the Sunwolves head coach who was an ex All Black. He also played for the Crusaders for a number of years. 

Such a great day for the whole family. I am very happy we can all enjoy rugby as a family :) Cannot wait for the next game in May. 

Treat for my niece

In between our busy schedule while the family is in Singapore, I managed to take Runa to a nail salon downstairs. She was very happy :) I managed to squeeze in a nice relaxing foot massage in the next room while she was getting her treatment done! Win-Win!

Sunwolves are back!

The second day for our visitors was full of events. We had the Japanese Super Rugby team "Sunwolves" coaching kids rugby in the morning, then a birthday party for our Japanese friend then the actual Super Rugby game at the National Stadium in the evening.

Luca went to the previous coaching session when Oliver had his school visit day. It was extra special for Oliver as he was very disappointed not making it last time.

It was only a short session but they did the fun training very well. Lots of autographs collected and nice pictures taken with the players.

Yes, my father is actually very short... Looks extra short here though... I think my father was most excited about meeting the players and talking to them in person. Such a special occasion! 

There will be one more Super Rugby game that will be played in Singapore after this one. I hope they will do another coaching session for the kids. It excites our boys extra about playing rugby! 

Japanese family visit

Finally mum and dad are here with my two nieces, Yuzuki and Runa.

We waited forever at the airport as they didn't check the luggage belt information, instead they went through all the belts to look for their bags... Well, they got here safely anyway.
Singapore Airlines had a super sale and they got here on a direct flight from Osaka for just under $500 return each! Amazing price!!

When we arrived at the condo lobby they were welcomed by our Japanese friends :) 

Yuzuki reunited with Yuhka after 7 months - Coincidentally they had matching tops! 

After leaving the bags and settling in at the apartment we took them for a dim sum dinner. A very long day for them but they are really happy to finally be in Singapore!

TJ's 8th Birthday Party

Another great party put together by TJ's parents. The kids had an absolute blast!
They ran around all evening and the adults enjoyed nice BBQ and drinks by the pool. The best way to go!

Our birthday rush is approaching very quickly too. I must get onto it soon. Three birthdays in two months for us!

Ashley's favourite spot in the house

She is crazy about crafting and drawing. I think at this stage the boys were more into toys and building LEGO but Ashley definitely prefers to spend most of her play time at this table.

Of course she needs to be dressed in a princess kind of dress though...

Quiet time

I love Sunday mornings. Having to clean the house ready for a Japanese calligraphy lesson is kind of a pain but watching all the kids concentrating on their work is wonderful. This week Oliver tried pencil writing. He will be sending his work to a competition in Japan in July.

It will be a long time but I am very pleased he is enjoying it and can actually write in Japanese now!

Bread baking

On one Valentines day Matthew gave me a bread maker while we were living in Brunei. I used to use it quite often and definitely our amah used to bake with it a lot for us.

Once we moved to Singapore and living in the smaller apartment I didn't have enough bench space to put it up. But now we have a bigger space and the kitchen is more open I decided to have a go again. My friend upstairs suggested to use some special Japanese flour. I think it is definitely the key for delicious bread baking! It smelt wonderful, raised perfectly and of course tasted super yummy!

Now our kids are addicted to it, I might have to bake more often!
