Lady's night out

What a fantastic night we had together. I cannot remember when we last had a ladies night out. It was for sure a long needed one!

Naz organised a party van to take us into the city. The music in the van was pretty loud but it certainly boosted up our night!

We spent the night in Club Street where all the qwerky bars and restaurants are located.

We started off very strong at the Cuban bar:

Then to a funky Chinese bar. The Chinese tea party (very very strong cocktail in a tea pot) knocked some of us down...

After a couple of drinks (or more...) we finally ended up having some food. I was starving by this time and I had too much to eat. That was it for me. There was no more space in my tummy for any more drinks...

But my girl friends were still going strong with some shots!

We are all mummies and very sensible so we called it a night just before midnight. Thanks for a very fun night ladies. We must do this again - soon!!

Boys Day 2015

May the 5th is "Children's Day" in Japan. It is called Children's but we had a Girl's Day back in March to celebrate the wellbeing and happiness of girls. So this celebration is mainly for boys.

Every year I try my best to make it special. Somehow I didn't click it was Boy's Day until later in the day. So I had to rush and put the Japanese outfits on and take some photos outside. Unfortunately Matthew was away so he missed the celebration...

I wanted to take three of them together, but it was such a mission. They were so hyper and tired (it was after 5pm so the difficult/silly time kicked in...) I managed to take one with all three looking at me. 

But guess what!? Once you stop trying and let them do whatever they want to do, these smiles come out. 

When we got home I had to put together a very quick meal. Lucky they knew what they were eating and were very happy and ate them all!

Adventure Cove

One of our friends recently bought annual passes to Adventure Cove on Sentosa Island and we have been hearing all about the exciting water activities they offer.

Finally we made it there this afternoon. Straight from school pick up. We met with Kei and the kids plus their visitors from Japan. It's always more fun with more friends!

We walked though a cave to get to the other side of the park:

The kids paddle pool is surrounded by private gazebos that you can hire for the day. Unfortunately all of them were taken by the time we got there. So we sat on the beach chair for the rest of the day.

I love how well the older girls look after the little ones. All we had to do was relax and watch them :)

Oliver only managed to do this slide as he wasn't tall enough for any of the other ones (photos borrowed from Adventure Cove website). 

This swimming complex is cleverly located right next to the SEA Aquarium. So using the same sea creatures they offer slightly different entertainment. I just loved the lazy river where you could swim by the dolphin lagoon and float right beside so many stingrays!

I think my kids were happy enough to try only a small number of attractions. It is very good they cover all the different age groups.

So at the end of the fun day we decided to get us an annual pass each. Even though we have great swimming pool facilities at our condo I think it's nice to have somewhere we can go for a family day out. 

Rainbow before rain

When you live up high in a tower you can see some interesting natural phenomena.  There were some rain clouds moving towards us. At the same time we could already see a rainbow in a distance. Pretty cool I thought.

Mana Mana weekend

It is so close but we hadn't done this for a while and it needed to be done before we headed out on our big holiday to Europe. Spending the day at Mana Mana Beach Club.  It was slightly overcast which was maybe a good thing for our kids.

Miss sun-cream lover had to make sure she puts tons of sun cream on her before she hit the beach...

We had Ayaka with us too. People often think we have four kids... NO! We won't have any more! Three is more than enough for us :)

As always the kids had a ball playing in the water and sand on the beach. Oliver and Ayaka are often mistaken for siblings. They somehow look alike??

Of course they were treated with some iceblocks to finish off the fun-full day!

Such a great place to spend a family weekend. I love it!
