Housewarming Party @ S&N

We were invited to Shem and Naz house warming party on the weekend. Somehow Matthew is always working when there is something on in Bayshore Park, so it was nice for us all to go as a family.

It was great to catch up with the Bayshore Gang. Beautiful food and loads of drinks!

The kitchen is the always the most popular place once we start drinking!?

The kids had fun too. They enjoyed the home theatre watching some movies. 

I took the kids home and left Matthew and Luca. The party carried on until late...

It wasn't a smart decision to leave Luca as they didn't make it home until after 2 am!!

Luca's breakfast birthday bash!

I feel bad putting so much planning and effort for Ashley's party and the boys get easy options but the kids who came to celebrate with the birthday boys were all happy at the end of the day!
Here is the last one for this year, Luca's Indian breakfast by the pool and swim party.

Only on the weekend our Indian cafe downstairs serves breakfast. The kids all love cheese and egg pratas. Us adults had some other speciality meals yum!

The main guest for this party was Luca's favourite, uncle Stefan! He no longer lives in our condo so we hardly get to see him. The kids (actually all the Japanese kids in the condo) miss him a lot. Luca was so happy Stefan got into the water with him and threw him into the water!

After a nice morning swim it was time for some piñata fun! Lucky we had Stefan to organise it all!

After a long hitting session, finally the piñata opened. 

Adults had fun hitting the empty piñata too - maybe they enjoyed it more than the kids. 

To finish up the party we had a kiwi jelly cake instead of a normal kind of cake. Perfect for the hot weather. It was a great hit!

Luca was extra happy to score the big kiwi shaped watermelon :) 

Happy Birthday once more our big boy Luca. We cannot believe you are 5 already (or finally..., you know what I mean if you know Luca really well, it has been a very tough journey bringing him up!). Keep smiling and be Luca!!

Sushi love

Oliver has signed up to do some extra study. Every day after school he spends half an hour or so to do some review of math and Japanese. Today he was doing adding. He had to make an addition question using stickers. It says - I ate 10 egg sushi. Then I ate two tuna ones. How many sushi have I eaten all together? So many egg sushi!

Luca's birthday celebration - part 2

With some help from these two cream-lovers I managed to bake a birthday cake for Luca. His favourite (and mine!) - pavlova!!

I didn't have much imagination to make the cake special, so went for a kiwi theme. Kiwifruit, rugby and silver fern shaped chocolates and a NZ flag! 

We waited until Matthew got back from his flight and had the cake together. Luca was so proud of having a big birthday cake and being the centre of attention!!

Finally it was time to open the presents. 

He loved the hedgehog birthday card and the paw patrol toy - thank you English Roses!

The big box they were wondering what it could be since it showed up in the lounge was from us. Lucky I had the big wrapping quilt to wrap this huge box, thank you Merryn!

We got Luca a sand and water play table for the balcony. It might be a slightly young toy for him already but we thought Ashley and Luca can have fun together. Something to keep Luca in one spot! Hopefully Oliver gets to use it sometime too.

Only one more party to go then I am done for the year. Luca's friends are gathering to celebrate his birthday by the pool on the weekend. He is so excited. Always wanting the same thing as his big brother!

Orchids

Matthew got me some orchids the other day. They make the house so much prettier and makes me smile:) Boy they last for a long long time!
