Hair fetish

Some of you might know Oliver loves holding onto someones ears, especially when he is tired. Luca has a different obsession - Hair

He loves pretending to wash his or someone else's hair, or brush it.
See, he is even into his cow's hair...

Mummy it's snowing!

On the very last day of our Japanese holiday we got snow! It is quite unusual to have snow in our region. It wasn't heavy but it lasted all morning. The boys were so excited!

Later I went for a walk to see how much was on the hills/mountains behind us:



Not much but you can tell there was some right? I think I was as excited as the boys to see the snow!

3 birthday celebrations

We were lucky to be there to celebrate my sister Shinobu (17th Feb), Yosuke (19th Feb) and Rua (19th Feb) birthdays. Especially Rua turing ONE (already!!!).

We had a nice family sushi dinner at our place (well... at the moment it is my sister's family's place) and a birthday cake for them.





 

Luca wanted to have a go at blowing out the candles too... so we lit them again for him :)

I am so glad we all live close to each other and can have frequent family gatherings. Even Singapore is not too far when you can hop on a plane and be there in 6 hours!

Zzz...

Right after getting off the airplane we took the boys for a long awaited haircut. Their hair grows so fast and the last haircut they got in Singapore was awful so we waited till we got here.

Oliver as usual was very happy sitting and looking at himself - smiling away throughout the whole experience. I wasn't too sure about Luca as he was quite tired and getting grumpy while he was waiting for his turn.

Well... no need to worry in the end, he sat on the special kiddy seat and straight away he FELL ASLEEP!

So his hairdresser even gave him a nice relaxing wash and blow dry.

More train rides

We hopped on the train and went to see my aunty Kyoko who lives in Wakayama prefecture. My cousin Kenji had a daughter last month and we were hoping to meet her. But unfortunately aunty Kyoko couldn't get off work which made it difficult to go and visit them. So instead we visited the restaurant where she works to pass the presents for baby Misaki.

Yuzuki came alone, all of them were very happy being on the train and going through some tunnels!



Aunty Kyoko bought us a nice Japanese lunch and the kids were even treated with some yummy ice-cream for dessert :)



Yep Luca didn't want to share any  - he ate it all by himself!



It was a pity we couldn't see Kenji, Kaori and baby Misaki but it was still a nice train day out.

Sushi time!

Mako has been busy all week. We finally caught up properly at sushi lunch.

The kids are always entertained by the lucky draw (every 5 plates you eat, you get a lucky draw and you get a prize if you win) or the little train bringing your personal orders.

My boys eat so well and everything tastes so good in Japan - I love it!!

Brand new helmet

Oliver got a brand new helmet yesterday. He picked it by himself - his favourite colour (for now) - red and it's got fire! So it will go very fast according to him.



We had to test it out to see if it really goes fast, so we walked to Mako's place (my big sister). Result? Yap it went very fast!

Luca on the other hand didn't go much faster, as I wrapped him in a big jacket which made it difficult to walk...

Cousin time

My boys are enjoying spending time with Rua - their littlest Japanese cousin. Luca especially is very keen to entertain her (I think she is finding it a little bit too intense though...).





Great to have a cousin of a similar age :)

On Valentines Day ♡

It was a non-eventful day for us as Matthew was in Singapore and I was in Osaka.

However, I got the sweetest words from Oliver which made my day (he doesn't know what Valentines Day is about).

Oliver: Mummy, you are the best mummy in the world!
Me: You are the best Oliver in the world honey.
Oliver: And my daddy is the best daddy in the world and my Luca is the best Luca in the world!

I felt so much love from him. I love you my son, Happy Valentines Day ♡ ♡ ♡

Hint of spring

While we were walking to the shopping mall I found this ume/plum tree on the side of the road. It is still very cold but definitely spring is coming - my favourite time of the year in Japan!
