HK Disney Day 1

Well what are the chances when you are staying in an expensive hotel and you are woken by a fire evacuation order in the middle of the night!? The alarm went off so super loud at 2am. The telephone in the room even went with full volume ordering us to evacuate from the building...
Luckily it was a false alarm and we could go back to our room after an hour or so...

Even with an interrupted night our kids were up early, bright and cheerful. They loved the Mickey themed breakfast :)

Staying in a Club room we were given priority tickets that allow us to skip the queue for three chosen rides. However, we were told there is a limited time "Frozen" exhibition which we need to queue up to get tickets for straight after getting into the park. 

The queue for the Frozen tickets was so long! We managed to get tickets for the last show of the day. Having another family with us, we could entertain the kids while the husbands patiently wait in the queue :)

We weren't too sure there would be enough "boy things" for our boys to enjoy. Certainly there were more girly, princess things around.

Since our tickets to "Frozen" was later in the evening, we decided to take the kids back to the hotel for a short break. It was a very hot day. We all needed some quiet aircon time. And it worked out brilliantly. The hotel entertainers came around to the Club lounge and helped the kids do some crafts and even some balloon art demonstrations. 

Time to head back for more fun in the wonderland!

And the main event for the night - the Frozen show. The girls were so excited! They all had their princess dresses on :) How cute!

They had three separate areas. First, a theatre to watch a short Frozen character show, then on to meet Olaf. Then on to a snow play area where you can touch the icy snow and even have a ride on the toboggan! 

All the kids and adults were exhausted by the time we went back to the hotel. What an awesome day we had!! 

HK holiday with Brunke Family

We had another amazing holiday with our wonderful friends - the Brunke family. We met up in Hong Kong after their beach holiday in Ko Samui, Thailand.

We are very lucky to continue our friendship going even after we all left Brunei a while ago. Brunei certainly gave us a special friendship platform. It has been a while since we saw each other last in Germany. We found each other at the airport and checked into the HK Disney Hotel together.

Last time we came to Disney (I cannot believe it has been 4 and a half years already!?) we stayed in the Hollywood Hotel. So this was the first time for us to stay in the official Disney Hotel. We booked the Club Rooms. They are of course much more expensive than the normal rooms but for the extra things you get it certainly was worth it. We were very lucky to get a room as the hotel was absolutely packed! Matthew actually managed to get the very last room! We thought we picked a normal weekday to avoid the local crowd but it turned out that the HK government announced a public holiday a month before which was on the exact day we were staying...

Once we were checked in we had our afternoon tea in the Club Lounge.
Helen and Mina were very happy to see our kids :)

Our relaxing afternoon continued into their cocktail hour. Free flow of canapés and beer and wine - just perfect!

I wasn't sure if it was too early for Ashley to enjoy Disney at the age of 2 and a half. Guess what? She was the most excited one out of our three kids.

Later in the evening the surprise Disney character showed up. This time it was Minnie Mouse! The kids were so excited!!

We also enjoyed the fireworks from the balcony. 

What a perfect start to our exciting holiday!
