Day out with Ashley

Matthew got to Osaka again this morning. The boys went to kindy so we had some time for just the three of us.

Ashley's passport was ready to pick up so we took the train to the passport center which is very conveniently located at the next station.

It only took us 5 min to collect.
It was such a beautiful day so we decided to wander around the outlet mall where we could enjoy the outdoor walk.





We didn't buy much but it was just lovely to spend some time together.

Photos from Kyoto

I finally got some photos from the Kyoto trip with the Brunke family. As I was busy with Ashley most of the time, Hans did lots of photo taking during the trip.

Helen, Mina and Oliver got to practice the tea ceremony. It was a small tea house which provides a tea ceremony in a private room.

Quite a large tatami room - Oliver blends into the family pretty well :)

As you can see in the photos the tea is REALLY GREEN! So apparently the kids didn't really enjoy drinking it. Oliver was pretty happy to eat some of the Japanese sweets that came with the tea tho!

Feeding time!





This is an old doll that belonged to one of my nieces when she was little - so somewhere between 5-10 years old. She was at mum's place and we thought we threw her away when they shifted into our place. But she showed up from one of their boxes and Luca wouldn't let her go since he found her.

Straight away he called her "Ashley"... hmmmm

Daily activity

Every morning Oliver and Luca check their the sunflowers we planted. They are growing at an unexpectedly fast pace.

There is a very famous Japanese animated film called "Totoro". In the film two sisters meet Totoro. During the night they dance around with him by the seeds they planted. Somehow Totoro magic works - in the morning the plants are growing.

So Oliver thinks Totoro has been in our backyard :) Very cute!
