Party cruise

I couldn't stop giggling when I saw this party boat approaching the resort. Stefan made sure things are happening as surprises during our stay. Surely this was a big surprise! Huge Party boat! I was expecting a little cruiser you know. He told us later he didn't have many to choose from if we were to be picked up from the resort instead of going to a jetty.

First we had a good look around the boat, it had a great bar, dance floor, outside sitting area and viewing deck on the second floor.

I wish I could jump in with them... they were having so much fun!





We lost Stefan and Chris for a while...



Unfortunately we didn't stop near the shore for any swim as it was a party boat and supposed to float(?) on the water. So the kids (and me!) were a little bit disappointed not to be able to swim with the beautiful fish we were expecting.

But they had great fun on board instead.

Towards the end of the cruise, it got really really hot and the kids had enough. I also had enough of floating on the water and sound of the engines going by then. We headed out to our resort but found out the tide was too low to approach from the shore, so in the end we had to take the little boat to a different bay and walk from there. This last bit was slightly challenging for women with a big bump with two sleeping boys, lucky we had some help!

We couldn't just call it a day when we got back to our room, we were to be picked up for an exciting dinner experience in just an hour's time. The party continued....

Phuket - Day 1

We were up nice and early thanks to our excited boys (...) ready for a great day out!

Friends and family of Stefan started to arrive around lunch time. We had to go back to our room and get ready for the the party cruise around the islands. The boys were so excited! I wasn't sure how I would do on the boat with my big bump but of course me being me, I wasn't going to miss it!!  

Weekend getaway

This weekend we were invited to our friend Stefan's 40th birthday celebration in Phuket. It is nice to be able to fly to more destinations using staff travel. We had no problems at the check in - everything went nice and smooth.

We have done a lot of traveling in the past 6 months but going somewhere new (not Japan not NZ) made all of us so excited! The boys were certainly happy for their special weekend away, especially Oliver "We are going on a holiday!" And they were dressed in the right kind of clothes - with elephants on their t-shirts! (Thank you Mako).



We are off!



When we went through to board we found out our flight would be delayed for 30min or so :( For an hour and a half flight waiting an extra 30min on the ground felt a bit silly...





Because the resort Stefan booked us in was a bit far away from the city center and the most popular area in Phuket it took almost as long as the flight from Singapore in the taxi. But we finally got there!

We checked out the pool area first:





The resort has only 19 units and each was very roomy. Some had a swimming pool on the balcony, or movie room or huge outside balcony etc. We got a very nice family unit with roomy kitchen and nice bath.







By the time we got the boys ready for a quick dip before dinner the sun came down and it was just beautiful! I truly fell into the resort spirit :)

How hungry were we!? The restaurant staff were very curious...We ordered both Western and Thai food to try out. It was all so good!
